As the elementary school pilots its distance learning program, we encourage families to continue using the library website as a resource. To best support students and families, we have created a library webpage that collects ebook and audiobook resources, as well as some videos of Ms. Bass in the library. Please click below to check out the site.
At Seoul International School, we nurture a love of stories, reading, and learning in students; foster independence in selecting reading materials across genres; and cultivate critical thinking and information literacy skills. Through weekly classes, collaborative work with classroom teachers, book lists and displays, and special events, we offer opportunities for students to grow as readers, writers, thinkers, and global citizens.
We believe that an enthusiasm for reading is one of the greatest gifts we can give our students.
About the Library
The ES Library is located on the second floor of the ES/MS building, near the Makerspace and the third grade classrooms. We welcome students, teacher, parents, and other community members to join us throughout the school day. We are open every school day from 7:45am to 3:45pm. The best time for family members to check out books is before 8:15am or after 2:55pm. While someone may be available to help you at other times, we have classes throughout the day and cannot staff the circulation desk at all times.
About Library & Technology Classes
Students come to the ES library as a whole class on a 5-day rotation for read alouds, information literacy lessons, and to exchange their library books. They also visit the library to learn digital literacy skills on a 7-day rotation.
About the Library Website
Please use the tabs at the top of the page to explore the library website. Our website features book recommendations, research resources, library news, and literacy resources for families, as well as information on how to access ebooks and audiobooks at home with apps like TumbleBooks, StorylineOnline, and Sora. Please email Ms. Bass or call the library if you need any assistance.
